I received an e- mail this morning about a surprise sale at Kate Spade.
I loved Kate Spade for years, then was not impressed for the longest
time. Lately, I am pleased with how many interesting and well made pieces
they seem to have. These are my wish list picks from the awesome

I have carried Kate Spade handbags for years, and the quality was good overall for the leather bags, but not as good IMO for the fabric bags. I did notice that some of the bags were made expressly for the outlets. I did have one bag that was made for the outlet years ago, and it seemed to be well made with as much detail as my regular shop bags. Most of the sale styles are totes, but I love a nice tote- pretty and practical!
The dresses are silk. The Japanese print is much prettier in the "zoom" view, and the dresses don't appear to be scandalously short. I can't vouch the quality of the jewelry, but these pieces caught my eye!
Did you look at the surprise sale? Did anything catch your eye? I enjoy your answers!
The prices are awesome. Thankfully there isn't anything I "have" to have. ;)

It is tempting this year. They are actually opening a new boutique by me. A year ago, I would not have even gone in, but this year I see more and more items that impress me. Glad to know that you have had good luck with the pieces you have worn !

ReplyDeleteDitto to Dani and M; I love their jewelry too! And I am a SUCKER for these sales. Picked up six pairs of earrings, including four different colored pretty enamel flower studs. Cannot go wrong with these, at $19 or $29 each.

I have a few of these bags and they are so handy for grab-and-go-ing when I need to tote a bit more than what will fit in my handbag. LOVE this print; how fun, esp. for SAHMs! :)

I thought this would come in handy when I really need to be handsfree but want a bit more cute than you get in the standard real backpack...
Luckily, I am handbag-ged out and happily passed on all the pretty colors. But I do think KS handbags are very well made. The only thing I don't like about some KS bags is that some seem too structured externally -- sort of a hard outer shell -- with little organizing help internally.
As for clothing, sweaters are always fairly easy to fit, but I haven't found my fit yet in dresses and skirts. I am generally a 2 at JC, and at KS have been anywhere from a 2-6, so for me, it's not worth guessing. I hate mailing returns, and if there are no nearby B&Ms, I end up keeping, which just adds more clutter to my already cluttered closet.

Ooh, those enamel flower earrings are darling. I like your handbag picks. As you said, they are generally well made. I had some of the boxier ones, a while back, and I could fit so much in them, they became too heavy to carry! i am consistently the same size in separates, but I could NEVER order a dress from any retailer online at final sale. I have a hard enough time in store guessing the right size for a dress. Enjoy your great buys, and thank you for visiting!
